For those of you who don’t know, my wife and I co-founded Wordplay English Language Center back in 2017 and we have an annual summer camp every June. This year’s theme is going to be Fifty Nifty United States. While researching ideas, I was in search of a resource like an encyclopedia that students could read, research, and pull essential information from. The plan is to assign each student a state and then they learn as much as they can about it for a week before wrapping up the project with a big presentation on stage. The only thing is, I really wanted to find a FREE resource so we can save some money on books and printing. While reliving my glory days of singing songs about the USA, I stumbled across the Michigan state facts page from National Geographic Kids. Looking at the URL, I realized if I just changed the name of the state another 49 times, I would have great resource for all 50 states.
